Dorothy (Dot) Edith Wasdal

Dot passed away peacefully in the Stettler Hospital on Friday, Oct 4, 2024 at the age of 97 years.

Dot was born Sept 27, 1927 in Hartshorn, Alberta

Dot’s journey through life was both lengthy and rewarding. She enjoyed a full life, and was blessed with a large caring family and so many wonderful friends and neighbors.

On September 3, 1949, Dot married the love of her life, Arthur (Art) Canton Wasdal of Endiang, at the Big Valley United Church. They would become lifelong partners, raising their family and farming three miles west of Byemoor for the next 68 years.

Art and Dot really loved being part of the Byemoor community. There were so many great neighbors and friends helping each other with all kinds of projects such as the arenas, the hall, the curling rink, the ball diamonds and the senior’s drop-in center.

Dot is lovingly remembered by Stan (Beate) Wasdal, Tara Permann (Addison, Lily, Ruby), Tim (Daina) Wasdal (Maddison, Marlee); Jim (Maureen) Wasdal, Mandy (Matt) Nelson (Owen, Rylee), Dusty (Kelsey) Wasdal; Murray (Kim) Wasdal, Jaymie (Travis) Clouston (Will, Jack, Freya), Jordan Wasdal (Kyle Smith) (Ronni, Hank), Janelle Wasdal (Denver Silbernagel) (Wade); Ray (Leslie) Wasdal, Darby (Josh) Meyer, Haley Wasdal (Greg Smith); Wendy (Lyle) Bignell, Brett Bignell (Brendan Hollman), Carly (Brendon) Marchuk (Krew), Drew Bignell (Evan Imbery) and her sister-in-law Eileen Green.

Dot was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Arthur Wasdal (2017), father Albert Green (1964), mother Constance Green (1988), daughter Marilyn (1973), sister Olwin Pearson (2021) brother Bob Green (2021), brother-in-law Ed Pearson (1981). 

A Celebration of Dot’s Life will be held at the

Byemoor Community Hall

on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM.

The Wasdal family would like to thank their many friends and neighbors for all of their support.
